District and Parish Council Elections 2011



The District of South Holland is divided into 18 wards. The total number of District Councillors representing the wards is 37. The District is also divided into 21 parishes and some of the parishes are divided into wards. The total number of Parish Councillors representing all the parishes and parish wards is 217. Each Councillor is elected for a period of four years.

Elections for all 37 members of the District Council and all 217 Parish Councillors take place every four years.

Elections of District Councillors and Parish Councillors will be held on Thursday 5th May 2011.  Also being held on 5th May is a Referendum on the voting system at UK Parliamentary elections.

Candidates may submit nomination papers to the office of the Returning Officer from 25th March 2011 up to 12 noon on Monday 4th April 2011. A list of all nominated candidates will be available here as soon as possible after the closing date for nominations.
