Asset (land and buildings) Management is defined as 'optimising the utilisation of assets in terms of service benefits and financial return'. The aims of the asset management plan are to ensure that the council's land and buildings are used efficiently and effectively and contribute positively to the council's and the community's objective.
The Capital Strategy provides the policy framework for the operational work of asset management. It demonstrates how capital investment contributes to the achievement of the council's key objectives and ensures that property issues are fully reflected in the planning of the District Council.
