Vernatt's Nature Reserve

Warden Opportunities

My name is Jeff Goodley, I am the Nature Conservation Officer of the council and as part of my work I manage the Vernatt's Local Nature Reserve. What I need are Volunteer Wardens, not to do anything or confront anyone, but just to report what you see. If you see it or hear it on the reserve, then please let me know.

I am keen to hear of sightings of grass snake, newts and any bird that is out of the ordinary. I know about the Jay, Kingfisher, Greater Spotted and Green Wood Peckers, Kestrel, Sparrow Hawk and Hobby, but what else unusual is there? Please, let me know, my contact details are below.

Also, I would like to know if you see anyone fishing in the pond and any litter or rubbish that has been dumped. For up to date news on the reserve please look at:
http://www.sholland.gov.uk/environment/vernatts

I can be contacted via the main phone number - 01775 761161 or by email at jgoodley@sholland.gov.uk
