Community and Living

South Holland District Council is committed to 'developing and promoting South Holland as a thriving, living and working rural community'. We work with the rural community, voluntary organisations, statutory bodies and businesses to support and develop community activities, events and projects to deliver the vision.

This work is assisted by the local strategic partnership, the Rural Action Zone (RAZ). The RAZ helps to develop strong relationships with partners that have a significant impact on the community priorities. Follow the link above to find out more about the RAZ and working with partners.

Migrant Workers

The Council is fully committed to eliminating discrimination and actively promoting equality of opportunity for everybody who lives in, works in, or visits South Holland. The Council believes that its performance and achievements will be enhanced in an environment where equality of opportunity exists and prejudice and discrimination are not tolerated. The Council will work with its partners and the local community to challenge discrimination and to both celebrate diversity and promote cohesion. More information can be found on our Equality and Diversity pages. The Dynamics of Migrant Labour project, which was funded by Lincolnshire Enterprise and the East Midlands Development Agency in partnership with South Holland District Council, created the website www.migrantworkers.co.uk. This website holds information and resources for migrant workers, employers, agencies and organisations as well as news items, downloads and podcasts.
