How we provide this service
Landscaping in parks and open spaces is supported by Environmental Services.
The Council undertakes routine cutting of grass in urban areas together with tree and hedge pruning and shrub and rose bed maintenance.
Grass areas which are the responsibility of the Council are cut on regular basis. Continued bad weather can delay cutting and extended dry weather may make cutting unnecessary.

Grass cutting is carried out to ensure that people can use open spaces and the roads and pavements safely. Although environmental issues are of paramount concern, grass cutting is actually carried out on highways for safety reasons rather than environmental purposes.
