Clean up campaign gathers support

A new campaign group set up to clear litter from the streets of Spalding is attracting much support ahead of its first meeting.

Cllr Jack McLean

The Spotless Spalding group was started by Councillor Jack McLean, who was recently elected to represent South Holland District Council.

Cllr McLean set up the group after being inspired by the council's successful Pride in South Holland campaign to clean up derelict sites across the district.

Over 135 people have already supported the group on its official Facebook page, which can be found at www.facebook.com/spotlessspalding.

Cllr McLean said: "The response has been excellent and many people have come forward wanting to take part."

The group is set to meet on Saturday, June 27 from 6pm at the flower beds near High Bridge in Spalding.

For more information about the group contact Cllr McLean on 01775 421987.
