Street Care and Cleaning

The Council is responsible for the sweeping and removal of litter from public highways and areas of land under its responsibility.

  • Abandoned Vehicles

    If you need to report a vehicle you suspect as being abandoned please obtain as much of the following information as possible

  • Dead Animal Notification

    Reporting of a dead animal on the highway or publicly owned land to the Council. If you find a dead animal on the highway or any public land we can arrange removal. We can collect many types of animals ranging from cats and dogs to ducks and foxes. Please report it using our online form.

  • Fixed Penalty Notice

    Since 1st November 2009 Environmental Enforcement Officers from the Council have issued Fixed Penalty Notices for a wide range of offences for environmental crimes

  • Flyposting

    Removal of flyposting from public areas and public buildings.

  • Flytipping

    The removal of items that have been dumped or left (flytipped) rather than disposed of in the correct manner.

  • Flytipped Syringes (Needles)

    Information about the removal of syringes (needles) that have been dumped or left (flytipped) in public areas rather than disposed of in the correct manner.

  • Graffiti

    Removal of graffiti from public areas and public buildings within the South Holland district

  • Sharps Collections

    The collection of used syringes

  • Street Cleaning

    The action of removing street litter by sweeping affected areas in the South Holland district

  • Street litter bins

    The council is responsible for keeping adopted highways clean and litter-free, within the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act along with other public spaces, such as parks and play areas.
