Unanimous Backing for Cheaper Fuel Deal

Cut-price energy for households in South Holland is a step nearer after a new scheme won unanimous backing from district councillors.

A prospective deal could slash gas and electricity bills for residents and potentially make the SHDC element of the Council Tax bill cost neutral to residents.

Householders are being urged to show their interest by signing up to a register which will put them in line for a better deal on domestic fuel bills. But they must act before 26th November or they could miss out.

SHDC Leader, Councillor Gary Porter said: “The Council, whose Fairer Fuel campaign is supported by the Lincolnshire Free Press and Spalding Guardian, has joined two consortiums of local authorities which are using a successful Dutch-Belgian firm, iChoosr, for the collective-switching process.

“Simply sign up and we’ll do our very best to save you money on your fuel bills. The potential savings each year could be equivalent to how much the Council costs you in Council Tax.”

Residents who have already signed up to the online Fairer Fuel for All register will NOT be automatically added to the new list of interest. Please register again to take part [Link Expired].
